Dr. Layla Nabulsi – Founder of 5traits Test

One afternoon, a worried mother sat across from Dr. Layla Nabulsi, describing her son as “difficult” and “hard to handle.” Instead of agreeing, Dr. Nabulsi paused, smiled gently, and asked a simple question: “What if nothing is wrong with him—and we just don’t understand him yet?”

In that moment, the conversation shifted. What seemed like a problem became a possibility—an approach that has guided her work for over fifteen years, shaping how parents see their children’s unique personalities.

A leading child psychologist, Dr. Nabulsi has dedicated her career to bridging the gap between complex psychological research and everyday parenting. She believes that understanding a child’s natural personality is the first step toward helping them thrive and achieve long-term success.

Her academic journey began at Cairo University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2004. Motivated by a desire to support families, she continued her studies at Ain Shams University, completing her Master’s in 2008 and a PhD in Child Behavior in 2013. Her research examined how early personality traits affect learning abilities and social development, laying the foundation for her innovative approaches today.

This foundation led her to create the 5traits Test platform, transforming the renowned “Big Five” personality model into a practical tool for families. While initially used in professional settings, Dr. Nabulsi recognized its potential to help parents discover their children’s natural strengths early on, encouraging growth based on abilities rather than focusing on weaknesses.

Beyond the platform, she has authored books including The Hidden Language of Children (2016) and Beyond Grades (2022), and serves as a consultant for over fifty schools. Her work extends to international educational summits, where she advocates for understanding each child as a unique puzzle.

Through her latest campaign, “Understand Them to Support Them,” Dr. Nabulsi continues to turn scientific insights into meaningful connections between parents and children, helping families embrace each child’s individuality with clarity, empathy, and love.
